On December 7, 2006, the National Park Service and the U.S. Navy hosted Pearl Harbor Survivors from across the nation with a very special tribute in their honor. This ceremony featured keynote speaker Tom Brokaw, the Honorable Linda Lingle, Morning Colors, wreath presentations, a rifle salute, a Missing Man Flyover and other tributes. A National Moment of Silence was observed at 7:55 a.m ....the exact time of the Pearl Harbor attack

On December 6, 2006, the Pearl Harbor Memorial Fund unveiled a rebuilt and upgraded USS Arizona battleship exhibit model at the Memorial’s museum. Built by nationally renown model-builder Don Preul, this centerpiece display will set the standard for historical and technical authenticity.

On December 5th, The Arizona Memorial Museum Association held a Gala event to benefit the Pearl Harbor Memorial Fund. In addition to honoring the Pearl Harbor survivors who lived on to defend our nation's freedom, the evening included a moving tribute to those who lost their lives at Pearl Harbor on December 7, 1941. The program also featured a 1940s style swing band and a silent auction.
