The Pearl Harbor Survivors Project is committed to protecting your privacy. We maintain the privacy of your information using security technologies and adhere to policies that prevent unauthorized use of your personal information.

What personal information is collected and how is it used?

To make your experience more convenient, we gather information from you.

We collect the personal stories of survivors of the attack on Pearl Harbor. Because these stories are personal accounts from survivors themselves, or accounts passed down to their heirs, we cannot guarantee the veracity of factual accuracy of these accounts. Pearl Harbor Memorial Fund does not fact-check or otherwise research the survivor stories submitted.

We collect personal information from you when you register to join an email list, or subscribe to a newsletter. This information may include your name, your address, and your phone number. We may also monitor and track information such as visitor usage patterns of our web site, advocacy campaign participation, email engagement such as open rates and click-throughs. We compile this information into a statistical aggregate which we use for internal purposes including improving our web service, member communications and our client service.

We only collect the personal information that you submit. We may use this information to communicate with you in the future, if you have given your permission for such contact. We keep confidential all personal information entered during registration.  Any information that you provide to us through this website or through our phone system becomes property of the Pearl Harbor Memorial Fun, the Arizona Memorial Museum Association and the National Park Service.  By using this site or the phone system, you agree that we may use your story for marketing and advertising purposes. We may also prepare, use, reproduce, publish, distribute and exhibit your name, picture, portrait, likeness, voice or any or all of them in or in conjunction with the production of a motion picture film, television tape, film recording, sound track recording or still photography in any manner for educational treatment, scientific publication, informational and any other professional purpose deemed necessary.  These materials may be put, applied, or adapted by the National Park Service or the Arizona Memorial Museum Association.

Email removals, member profile review and updates

If, for any reason, you would like to be removed from any or all of our email lists, you can unsubscribe by simply stating this desire in a reply to any email we send you.

Protecting your privacy

As part of our commitment to ensuring the privacy of our visitors, we do not sell or exchange names or any other personally identifiable information about our online visitors and members with, for example, mass marketers.

We also provide personal information to third parties on a completely confidential basis to enable a third party to perform certain tasks, such as maintain a membership database or send email alerts and/or newsletters, on our behalf.
