Joseph Rees spent 40 years with the Navy. He fought in three wars: World War II, Korea and Vietnam. He was sunk three times in World War II, once at Pearl Harbor. He was wounded at Pearl Harbor on the USS
Ogalala. He died in 1982 in Gulfport, Mississippi. He had seven children. His wife Evangeline is still living in Hoover, Alabama.
